If you’ve ever wanted to try Japanese mayonnaise, perhaps now’s the time!
I use Kewpie Mayonnaise pretty exclusively when it comes to Japanese food.
Japanese mayonnaise has a different flavor profile and texture than American mayonnaise.
In the simplest of terms, I’d say it’s much more creamy and delicate than American mayo, in my opinion.
If you’ve had it how would you describe it?
It goes well with all the things you normally would use mayonnaise for.
For example, sandwiches, dressings, burgers, hot dogs etc.
However, one thing I think it’s particularly good for is – Japanese food.
Some of the Japanese dishes I often use it for include – Japanese style dressings, karaage (deep fried chicken), fish, Japanese pasta salads, Japanese potato salads, pasta, and more!

I love the sesame dressing. But these days, when I go to buy it at the grocery store, the shelf is empty. I’m not sure what is going on. I’m sure I’ve eaten Kewpie Mayonnaise in Japan but I have not eaten it at home.
